HedgeStreet Announces Management Team
San Mateo, CA, 25 March 2004 – HedgeStreet Inc., which was designated as a contract market and registered as a derivatives clearing organization by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in February, today announced its senior management team.

Dr. John Nafeh, whose background in decision analysis and risk management was instrumental in shaping HedgeStreet's vision and business model, has led or supported the creation of many technology-related companies in the past.
As managing director of Pareto Partners Ltd., a Portola Valley, Calif.-based venture capital firm, Dr. Nafeh has worked with a number of emerging companies, and founded and incubated HedgeStreet. He also founded personal computer and database software companies in the mid-1980s, and was involved with Apple Computer and Atari during their start-up phases in the late 1970s. Dr. Nafeh holds an M.S. degree in management science and engineering and a Ph.D. in decision and risk analysis, both from Stanford University, in addition to a B.S. degree in electrical engineering.
Russell Andersson, vice president, instrument origination, co-founder and acting president, HedgeStreet Exchange has an extensive background in hedge fund management and venture capital, and has worked with a variety of financial instruments, including bonds, options, swaps, forwards, futures, and NDFs. As a proprietary trader with Trinity Asset Management, Mr. Andersson specialized in emerging market currencies and debt. Before co-founding HedgeStreet, Mr. Andersson was a General Partner of Eden Ventures, a UK venture group, where he has held advisory and executive positions with technology start-ups including OD2, Apertio, and CodecX. Mr. Andersson holds a B.S. in business administration and finance from Angelo State University.
Ursula Burger, vice president, corporate communications, and vice president administration (acting) and co-founder, has more than 20 years of experience in high-technology marketing communications and operations management.
Ms. Burger has taken a sabbatical from her position as a managing director for Pareto Partners, where she was involved with marketing, communications, identity and branding strategies for several portfolio companies. Prior, Ms. Burger was vice president of corporate communications for Larscom, and previously held management positions for several high-technology companies in Silicon Valley. She holds a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Munich and a Master of Arts degree from Stanford University.
Stephanie Ford, vice president, legal and compliance, has substantial experience in the regulatory compliance field. Before joining HedgeStreet, she was vice president of legal and compliance at Thomas Weisel Partners, and previously was branch compliance manager for CIBC Oppenheimer. Ms. Ford held similar compliance positions for Salomon Smith Barney and Metropolitan Life earlier in her career. A member of the State Bar of California, she holds a B.A. degree from Rutgers University, a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and has successfully completed the requirements for a number of securities licenses.
Dave McCandless, director, information technology, has held a number of senior-level positions in the areas of information technology, project
management, standards, architecture, systems programming and product-line development. Before joining HedgeStreet, he was chief information officer
for Fortel Inc. Previously, Mr. McCandless held key positions for such leading companies as Bell Telephone Laboratories, Oracle and Bank of America.
He holds a B.S. degree in computer science from Washington State University and a M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin.
Philip Schaadt, principal architect, has more than 30 years of experience in IT management for financial institutions. Before joining HedgeStreet, he was chief information officer and chief technical officer for MyCFO.com. Previously, Mr. Schaadt held senior-level positions for such leading financial services organizations as Bank of America and TRW Enterprise Systems. He holds a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Illinois, and an M.B.A. in finance from Northwestern University.
Ravi Viswanath, vice president engineering, and CTO, has held a variety of executive positions, including director of development and architecture, Internet Commerce Division and director of engineering for new media tools and applications at Oracle. Before joining HedgeStreet, Mr. Viswanath held VP engineering positions at PostX and OneREV. He has extensive experience in the design, development, implementation, and management of mission critical enterprise applications, including financial data interchange applications, Internet commerce applications, electronic business communications systems and information security and privacy. He holds a B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a M.S. degree in computer science from the University of New Hampshire.
