HEDGESTREET LAUNCHES HEATING OIL, WHOLESALE GAS
NEW FLEXIBLE DURATIONS FOR ONLINE CURRENCY TRADING AND GOLD
SAN MATEO, CA, AUGUST 3, 2006 -- HedgeStreet.com, the nation's first government-regulated online futures trading market for binary and futures contracts, today announced that it has expanded its existing energy offering to include heating oil and wholesale gasoline, and launched new intra-day durations for gold and EUR/USD currencies.
HedgeStreet members can now trade a $100 Heating Oil Binary contract offered in a spot (1.5 day) trading format. Trading in new Wholesale Gasoline Binaries started on August 1. HedgeStreet has delisted its previously traded EIA Gas at the Pump Contracts.
"The vast majority of the traders on HedgeStreet are average people who, just like most of us, are feeling the adverse effects of surging oil and gas prices, a volatile market and economic uncertainty," said Bill McIntosh, Vice President of Marketing for HedgeStreet. "With the price of oil and gas at all-time highs, many of our traders expressed interest in contracts that could help them hedge against the rising costs of heating their homes and filling up their car."
HedgeStreet also announced new durations for its popular Gold and EUR/USD Binary instruments based on customer demand:
- Gold: two (2) new intra-day contracts are now tradable between 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. ET and 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. ET. In addition, a new weekly Gold Binary contract can be traded Monday through Friday. Previously, only contracts with spot durations (1.5 day trading window) were offered.
- EUR/USD: three (3) new contracts can be traded on this currency pair; the first between 9 a.m. to 12 noon ET; the second from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. ET; and the third from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. ET. HedgeStreet is also offering a weekly EUR/USD Binary tradable Monday through Friday.
